Our students are motivated to learn languages for a variety of reasons. Some have urgency and a very specific goal date, others are under no time pressure, and most are somewhere in between. We’ll discuss your language aspirations to ensure that your class structure, frequency, homework, and curriculum are all personally designed to help you achieve your goals.

Instructor match 🧑‍🏫

When learning a language, it is crucial to find the right teacher for you. We match you with the best instructor based on your goals, schedule availability, and other intangibles. Do you want to understand the culture along with learning the language? Do you want to improve your accent? These are all considerations and part of our instructor match program. We save you hours of research.

Schedule preference 🗓️

Learning a language takes commitment and class consistency. We help get you on track by understanding your preferred class times and matching you with a teacher that can meet your availability. This is the first step of our instructor match program (see above). LingualMuse provides an online calendar so you can easily schedule and, when necessary, reschedule a class. Your instructor’s calendar is open to you 24/7 and a year in advance, making class scheduling flexible to your needs.

Meet and Greet 👋

An important part of your initial introductory lesson is to establish some familiarity. It’s an opportunity for you to meet your teacher and your teacher to get to know you. Good synergy between teacher and student make the foundation of a good workflow and goes a long way to successful learning.

Mini Class 👩‍🏫

After your meet and greet, your teacher will use the remaining 15-20 minutes to conduct a mini class. We have several goals during this time with you:

• Ensure a good video and audio connection and review the tools we use during class.
• Assess your language level and best learning style (see below)

Language level assessment 📝

Getting off to a great start begins with your teacher understanding your current language level. This class time is used to explore how much you know!

Learning style assessment 🔎

Each person has their own preferred learning style. Are you more of a visual learner or an auditory one? Does reading work better than writing for you? This is what your teacher will assess during your intro class so that you can learn at your highest potential.

Your teacher will provide any learning materials needed for this class. Continuing lessons may require the purchase of a language book recommended by your teacher, which can be obtained through amazon.com or independent booksellers.

Homework is optional! 👍

Practice time between lessons will accelerate your learning. How much homework you receive is up to you. Please discuss with your teacher the time you can allocate to homework and practice so that we can meet your needs.
