I’m a Japanese Language Coach fluent in Japanese and English, with a strong appreciation for cultural exchange and practical, real world communication. I believe language learning works best when it’s personal and relevant, so I tailor each lesson to my students’ goals, learning style, and pace.

I teach Japanese online through LingualMuse, creating customized lessons that focus on confidence and everyday language use. I also work as a bilingual telephone interpreter, supporting Japanese expatriates with situations like medical appointments, banking, travel planning, and school related matters. This hands-on work keeps my teaching grounded in how Japanese is actually used outside the classroom.

I’ve lived and worked in both Japan and the United States, including Tokyo, Yokohama, Boston, and now West Hollywood, California. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Aoyama Gakuin University and a Master of Science in Mass Communications from Boston University, with academic training in intercultural and speech communication. These experiences shape how I teach and how I help students navigate both language and cultural nuance.

I also have experience teaching English to elementary and junior high school students and aim to create a supportive, comfortable learning environment where students feel confident using Japanese in real life.
